Thank you for looking. This is the official catalog for the exhibition TURNER: Poetry of Landscape, held from November 2017 to September 2018 in Kitakyushu, Kyoto, Tokyo, and Koriyama. [Published by The Asahi Shimbun Company. 277 pages. 28.2 x 23 cm. Hardcover.] * Although it is in very clean condition, with minimal flipping through and almost no signs of use (basically no creases from opening...), please only consider purchasing if you understand that this is a used item kept in a private home. * There are no smokers or pets in the household. * As a general rule, we cannot accept cancellations or returns, so please be aware of this in advance. [Overview] Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775-1851) is not only one of Britain's greatest painters but also one of the most original artists in the history of landscape painting. With his exceptional technique, he depicted the diverse expressions of nature, such as stormy seascapes, sublime mountains, and tranquil rural landscapes, while also engaging in historical landscape painting. His innovative landscape expressions, enveloped in light and atmosphere, continue to be a source of inspiration for many artists today. This exhibition features approximately 70 oil paintings and watercolors, as well as prints, carefully selected from museums across the UK, including the National Galleries of Scotland, and museums in Japan.
