This vintage postcard features a handcolored illustration of the Post Office building in Olympia, Washington, showcasing its impressive classical architecture with tall columns and grand entrances. The postcard captures the historic charm of early 20th-century civic buildings, offering a glimpse into Olympia's past. The building's detailed stonework and period street lamps add to the postcard's nostalgic appeal. Printed by E. Kropp Co., a well-known publisher of postcards in the early 1900s, this postcard is an original piece dating from 1917, as indicated by the postmark and 1-cent U.S. postage stamp. The card includes a handwritten message on the back addressed to Mrs. John B. West in Fredonia, New York, offering a personal connection to the era. Collectors will appreciate the postcard's historical significance, handcoloring technique, and its glimpse into early Washington state architecture.
